Wham Last Christmas Martin Kemp and George Michael

George Michael’s close friend, Martin Kemp who appeared in the Last Christmas film in 1984 revealed that George Michael set him up on a blind date with Shirley, who also showed up in the Last Christmas music video, and was a back singer of Wham! back then, who turned out to be Kemp’s wife.

Kemp said with a smile “I have a lot to be grateful to George for,” and, Kemp said sadly. ‘”He (George Michael) came on my very first date with Shirley – and I spent the whole time trying to get rid of him, as I wanted to sneak off with her!”

Before George Michael died on the Christmas Day in 2016, Kemp’s family spent time with the Last Christmas singer, George Michael at his north London house on Boxing Day.
